Review: Always second choice

Always second choice Always second choice by Lira Darkwaters

This was an ARC read ...

I don't think 5 stars is enough for this. I mean I don't have triggers or anything but this one? This one got to me. It made me cry, it made me giggle and smile. And it made me think, remember, about how much I recognized myself in Selena. My story wasn't so extreme but man, some parts hit close to the heart. Too close. If you are, or ever have been second choice, third or fourth even ... This one is for you.

I think this one will stay with me, in my bones for a while .. Thank you Lira for such a beautiful realistic tale ...

"But that wasn't what destroyed me. It was the quiet. The knowing. The familiar ache of watching him walk toward something that wasn't me."

Well reading this book during a heat wave???  I have currently 2 extra fans blowing on me coz it was HOT HOT HOT
Whiskey and J ... it was sweet, sad, hot, a bit of a thriller, hot, funny, did I mention hot? ... I didn't know what to think going in about the ex-reality TV person POV - since I really am not a fan of realiy TV,at all ... But I was pleasantly surprised. And  everything else wow ... yeah I cannot wait for Silo Bay #2 ... did I mention it came with it's own Spotify list to listen to while reading?
I always loved Fleetwood Mac, so I will listen to them tomorrow ... and I added another series to my TBW list on a certain streamer to get through this heat ... I loved it Oh and it's a bit smuthy at times so read it somewhere cool ;p

This was a hot ARC read (I'm gonna go take a cold shower now)

This was an ARC read.

I have read a lot of shifter stories, but this one was very original in approach and storyline!
I loved it, it gave me a scandinavian mythology vibe and yet was very different and a cool read!
No predictable stuff and it kept me wanting to read more ...
I really hope this will get a sequel, coz I do have some questions left

If you like shifters, witches and fantasy stuff but are tired of the run of the mill stories I suggest you check this out!
Not for the faint of heart, it is explicit at times, but worth it!

Review: I've Got You

I've Got You I've Got You by Alexandra Grace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was another ARC read.
A quick cute slow burning romance with a cute veteran and his just as cute buddy and a girl who didn't know what love was except from 1 other person.
No spice but lots of love and details for other things, great written story, makes me want to read the backstories from other characters that tie in ...
Great for those long summer nights that are too hot to do anything but you still want to feel like you accomplished something, like have 2 people fall in love with each other and root for it!
Grab it and enjoy it over a smoothie or milkshake, pref near a beach.

Review: Volik

Volik Volik by S.J. Tilly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well I liked vampires basically my whole life (since Christopher Lee) ... but this was a new one for me and how cool was it! Though cool is not really what comes to mind after reading Volik and Nix' story ... hot hot hot like the current outside temperature is more like it!
Original, spicy, and grabbing/holding my attention ... and the sneak peak promises a good Bonded Souls #2!! I cannot wait and I am going to channel my inner Frio and go hide in the freezer until it's released or can maybe lower my current Vampire expectations a bit again ...You wanna hulk smash outta here and go get your own copy!
This was an ARC read.

Review: Beneath the Veil of Tides

Beneath the Veil of Tides Beneath the Veil of Tides by Chelsea Lentz
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an ARC read.

For a million reasons (but mostly allergies that hit my eyes over and over) this one was a slower read but I am so happy I finished it and I am hoping it will have a sequel. It was an emotional action packed novel with lots of love on many levels ... family, found family, blood ties ...I loved it!
No spice but lingering love and the struggle of love that is meant to be, to be able to happen. It was cruel and hard at times and I am not about to give away spoilers but it was a really good story! Not my usual read but why should it? If a sequel comes out I will definitely read it! If not I will finish it in my brain but won't do it justice. Very original! if you like pirates, mermaids and gods in an action packed story and have to triggers, I would recommend it!

I read this novella as an ARC

I try to start each new book with an open mind and very little expectations. I pick them and apply for them when there is something that appeals to me. This one was very original, very dark and explicit and it smells like more. It took me a second to get into it but once I was in, man, I was in ....and especially with the ending (but it's not really an ending is it? On the contrary ...) I cannot wait to read more. We might be in for more surprises, I hope so at least.

Review: Changing Tides: Shifting Moon Saga, Book 2

Changing Tides: Shifting Moon Saga, Book 2 Changing Tides: Shifting Moon Saga, Book 2 by Hope Worthington

This was book 2 of the Shifting Moon Saga ... and in my honest opinion so much better than book 1. It took my right back in the story of Rem and Logan. More story, more detail, more originality. And a bigger hunger for book 3 that's for sure! I love the mix of shifting and magic and love ... and the promised darkness the next chapter will bring. I look forward to reading it!
